Re: Issues with created supports for overhangs

Here you go: Print Profiles There are 3 profiles I have been using, 2 for fine print with 0.2 and 0.4 nozzle sizes. The other profile I use runs at a faster print time which I use for printing off parts for my printer and prototyping. Obviously maybe not to everyone's choice but they are working wel...

Re: Issues with created supports for overhangs

I encountered a similar problem like your experiencing and I got round it by downloading 'Custom Supports' plugin from Cura market place. With 'Custom Supports' you are able to adjust the size and positions of the support. I'm printing really small detailed parts and use Cura 4.3.0. If you want I ca...

Re: Magnetic bed surface

I've just bought one of these to try out, its quite cheap and can be trimmed down to fit my Hictop heatbed.

Also the adhesive sticker is made by 3M which is good quality.

Toggle Switch has Encountered a Meltdown!

Being made in China I can't say I'm surprised ! Has anyone else had this problem where the on off switch has had a melt down inside its casing? For safety I'm considering fitting a switched relay which would prevent a switch arcing and possibly prevent a fire! Would be appreciated if anyone could po...

Re: Cooling Fan Speed vs Strength

Interesting video. Currently I am viewing as many youtube videos as I can on my quest to produce prints that are nearing SLA quality using a 0.2 nozzle. CHRIST! There is so much crap on Youtube out there, with total morons who talk total shite. Initially the intros to "Tomb of 3D Printed Horrors" pu...

Re: Z AXIS CRASHING

I had this problem when I set up my Hictop printer for the first time. What my issue was, the bed level sensor was adjusted to high. So if your machine is fitted with sensor on the Z axis that would be the first place I would be looking at. If the sensor is correctly adjusted then It could possibly ...

Re: Noob with Cura - HELP

I use an Ultimate 2+ printer at a library so do my software setup offline at home. I loaded Cura but am having a hard time getting anywhere. I loaded my model (STL file) and it's very small (100mm x 100mm x 20mm) and barely shows in the display. Isn't it possible to zoom in ? (I can at the library ...

Re: The Twins

As with any thermo plastic it will let you know if things are too hot. The worst one is acetal (POM) that will get the eyes streaming !

However may try a different filament than PLA to get a stronger part holder on the wall.
What would you suggest for a 3D Printer that has only printed PLA.
ABS would be my choice for strength but I haven't tried it in my printer yet, I have only used this material in my mould injection machines!

Re: Marlin 1.1.9 Setup Problems

Corrected that now.

One other issue was initial print layer speed I didn't need to include that as Cura 4.3 has a detailed configuration in its Speed drop down menu.

So far so good......Prints are really starting to look very neat, I'm very pleased with the progress.
