Hi all,
New member.I have been 3d printing for several years and resin printing for 2 years and I have never seen what I am about to post.
Printer with Issue: Elegoo Mars 5 Ultra
Age of Device: 8 days
Issue: Models are not printing. All I get is a rectangle(s) with one of the short ends adherring to plate. Nothing is stuck to FEP the model just comes out like a flat, skinny rectangle (See image).
Slicer: ChituBox Pro v2.0 Beta02; ChituBoxPro 1.9x
Resins Tried: Elegoo 8k Grey, Black, Smoke || Siraya Obsidian Black
Attempts: 32 models including Rook and Cones of Calibration
Settings: See image 2
Addtl Notes: I also tried to do a "Clean Vat" with a 15, 30 and max burn. Nothing except a horizontal line of semi-hard resin is produced. I reset back to factory as well.
I used the same model with the same settings on my Sat2 and Sat4 and they work fine.
Im stumped. I have reached out to Elegoo Support and am waiting on their feedback.
Any thoughts?

Have you checked to screen is working OK. You take off the tank and in the setting put up a test image. I don't have Mars so I don't know the exact settings. You should see the screen fully let with the image.

Thanks Lez. I must have missed that step during setup. I will go back through the little book and locate that step.

at first glance it looks like you have a few issues.
2 exposure is way too low. 4 is my minimum
your supports may be too thin, thus tearing off early on
your bottom layer exposure should be 30-40 sec. (with my elegoo standard resin it's about 30 on my Ultra 4)

This might be stupid, but I did it, so I'm not above mentioning that the build plate has a sheet of plastic on it - the ones on the FEP and LCD both were obvious, but I missed this one.
Noticing that after a print failure didn't help, and it seems you're having slightly less trouble than I am - my FEP sheet holds the prints really, really well, and nothing has ever stuck to my build plate. So far only 50 grams of waste, but it's irritating. I'm going to keep trying, and I hope you have success!
