Hi everyone,

Only a part of my stl is being printed.

here is what i have done with my object:
-i added a couple of planes in freecad on the top and back of the object to make it solid
-then in freecad I followed all of these instructions on doing a mesh repair to make sure it is a solid surface without any holes:

-then in cura I reduce the scaling down to about 4000% so it's small, put on support, and make the object flush with the bed.

i've attached my stl here.

could anyone tell me what the problem is?

The problem could be in the stl export.
If you try Superspicer it will open up a 3mf file, for all I know Cura might too. In FreeCAD you just select the body from the left window and export as 3MF. No meshing, no complicated procedure, no VooDoo, that's it.

Viewing the stl, it still shows that it is not watertight

hi again country,

how are you checking if it's watertight in cura? maybe i'll have to get fusion so i can follow your method properly. after looking into freecad there are apparently several limitations it has, so i'll try another cad software.

I downloaded your latest file and first looked at it in a stl viewer and then confirmed it in Cura.
I first noticed defects and it looks even worse in Cura!

ok. it seems like the only problem to get it printing properly is making it watertight. i'm looking into what i may be able to do in blender as i get the impression the problems stem from there. and i might be able to try out fusion soon too so i'll give updates about that.

i'm sure being able to 3d print heads and faces would be useful to a lot more people than me so hopefully i'll manage to find a solution soon.
