Print at a higher temp? Well sadly i can only adjust that from the machine, Cura seems to have taking nozzle and bed temp inputs away from us

Is there an MK7/MK8 mod for the UM2+ feeder yet? If yes, I would go for it.
@LePaul: For the time being you may want to check if the knurled part is clean.

Umm you can adjust the temperature while printing right?
I would just use a reprap flavour mode for um2. You could use the same exact file from your umo. The only difference is the header.
Mk8 for um2+ ummm. It would need just 1 piece, a 8dia mk8 and a new bolt (the one that goes inside the gears).
You are right @dim3nsioneer, that could be a cheap and fast mod. But I don't have a cnc lathe to make them.

Well it worked last night.
But I had a "rumbling" sound, like the print head was dragging on top of the print....despite the bed height being fine otherwise. Same gcode, no changes. Just another annoying failure....it knocked over a section of the piece the support material was supporting. i'm wasting a lot of filament lately....I thought the 2+ was supposed to make my life easier

Speaking of the feeder, how do you get into that? And adjust the settings? Press in? Up? Down?

This is how it looks inside (don't open it is just to explain)
The screw moves the nut thatmakes the spring be more or less tight. (The indicator on the bottom is maximum pressure and on the top less pressure, don't overdoit on any direction or the small plastic indicator can snap)

Thanks for illustrating that.
I didn't know the screw up top was the adjustment, I thought the knob was

Another evening, another failed print.
The machine failed on the support material. Then the filament in the spool jammed itself up, causing the feeder to strip the filament and jam

Sorry, but why don't you at least print a simple pure plastic filament guide like the one that was shipped with the UM2 before you start more of these large prints?
If you have too much filament, I can sent you my address and I will take some

Ha
Well the bearings have not arrived yet
And I printed THREE of these previously with NO PROBLEMS
I have never seen filament tangle itself up in the spool like this before.
And I am completely puzzled at why the printer is failing on those lower portions of the print
Here's what a successful version looks like

I'd use a lower filament guide, Roy are adding friction and therefore requiring more force from the feeder to pull the filament in.
Also print off Roberts bearing filament spool, print off the longer spindle to take fatter spools.

But....but....I am trying to be an Ultimaker fan boy! Doing everything they show in those videos, how EASY it is to print!
Sigh!
I mean, I met these guys that have 10-20 of these machines printing merrily all day long....meanwhile, I can't get ONE to print consistently! Soooooo mad

Just trying to have this BB-8 build well underway by now....and just falling further and further behind
I'm sorry to be a in a foul mood about it.
I have never seen a spool of filament kink, maybe I am used to the overpowerful UMO extruder?

Well UMO extruder is powerful but so it is the um2+. But ofc UM2+ hotend need's more force than umo (smaller hot area vs bigger hotzone). Anyhow I never got that problems with my spools because I spool them myself. You could just cut the metters needed and leave them on the ground or on a lazysusan, a piece like the one you print must be around 10-15m?

Yeah that print takes 14m
I did up the temp as you suggested by a few degrees (3C) but the support looks very stringy
I took a suggestion from the UM board, about the "bumping" i was hearing during the previous print and checked this on...
I'm wondering what you guys think about Coasting? I have it on....should it stay on? Off?
