I know there are a few models out there, where you use Cura to merge them....but how about other models?
What's the magic in transforming a model into being made for dual colors?

My understanding is that you need to use a .obj file that has the part colors set. This is usually lost in .stl files.
But, since I only have mono filament capabilities at this time, I could be wrong.

Cura 2.6 will also have a feature to convert any model into a dual color model.
You don't need OBJ files for dual extrusion.

It pretty much works the same as infill meshes. So the intersection of a dual mesh with the to be printed object can be printed with a different extruder.
The beta will be soonish (few weeks max)

Any chance of adding the pronterface controls back any time soon????
I haven't had time to deepdive into the code yet (copious spare time and all).

FieldOfView is working on that. Not sure when it will be done though.

... damn... seems I´m too stupid to understand the use of "meshes" in cura... is there any idiot's guide available for it?

Yes, second that....a user guide for the most recent version(s) of Cura is sorely overdue
(I'm big into documentation)
