First print!
I finally unboxed my Voxelab Proxima and the Elegoo Wash/Cure Mercury setup
I was really annoyed the Proxima didn't have a ready to print file on the USB. Not to mention no directions on how to use/slice to the proper format for the Proxima. That slowed me down!
Using Elegoo Grey Resin, I got this for a first print.

Re: First print!
Nice first print.
Wish I had time to dedicate to my printers. Just can't free up spare cycles to clean, tune, level, and find something I want to print.

Hi Paul
How are did you find the resin printer, I know it was your first attempt.
I prefer mine to the FDM one I have.

Re: First print!
Working in a research lab, I have become accustomed to reading the material and technical data sheets on printing materials
The resins are really quite shockingly dangerous Then you have your cleaning hazards (IPA)
So when I see all of these people using these on YouTube in their house, without googles and so on...my safety side gets very alarmed!
If all I printed was small things, the resin wins every day.
For larger than 6 inch tall, then the tide shifts a bit
I'm noting how brittle my resin printed stuff is. I know they make stronger stuff so I am waiting to try the ABS like stuff too.
I'll need a heated enclosure to keep using mine after October/November

Re: First print!
Siraya Tech Blu. Very strong. I mix it with Elegoo ABS-Like if I want a stronger print, but you can use it as it is. The ABS-Like is pretty strong as it is though.
I have 2 spare trays with different materials in so I don't need to mess about when changing resins. Well worth the money.
I take your point on the chemicals, I always wear gloves and glasses and wash my hands with soap afterwards just to be sure.
I have my printer in the garage in it's own spot and the cleaning dishes on a tray to keep everything contained.
I see they are starting to make bigger resin printers at reasonable prices, I think that will be my next purchase.

Re: First print!
I've been wondering about getting a heater lamp, like they use for pet reptiles, to warm things up....maybe build a plastic enclosure for that

Re: First print!
I have run mine when it was less than 20°C, possibly 10°C without problems.

Re: First print!
It would be interesting to know if the scratch affected the prints, for future reference.

Re: First print!
I'm having some difficulty getting stared. I think I'm getting a good first layer. but failing on supports. Using the AmeraLabs model for calibration, I think my problem is under exposure. I have upped the exposure from the recommended 2.5 s to 4s, the model is a lot better but probably still under exposed.
Do you think the light is faulty as it seams to be adding a lot to the exposure time.
It's my first resin printer so I have nothing to compare it to .
Proxima 6
Flashforge Standard Grey Resin.

Re: First print!
Hi
I don't know if it will help but here is the settings for various resins for the Photon printer.
It will give you an idea for how the first layers go.
