Show off My latest Print

Ok so it's not my latest print but a few may find it useful.
These are my revised fan ducts, they require no screws, they swivel out of the way giving clear access to the nozzle area and you can adjust the height, I recorded just over 6 m/s. If your running dual heads you can mirror the LH duct, what's not to like?
Oh they don't make the coffee!

Something I did yesterday night. My wife accidentally stepped on my kids brio bridge and broke the hinge. So I went to F360, designed a new one printed it and it matched first try. This is 3D-Printing, right?

In the front there, the broken original piece (and the new hinge allreday mounted in the background):

Funny, I just favorited those last week intending for them to be my first serious xt-cf20 print
Now I want them even more. Having the nozzle visible is something really handy I think.

@Blizz - I'm concerned how well the xt-cf20 would hold up as a fan shroud. That nozzle gets really hot! Both of my PLA/PHA fan shrouds developed a bad case of the "sags" on a longer print...even the one furthest from the print head.

Yes! Very rewarding, and even the wife approves for such a use case!

I used colorfab XT (clear) for my fan shroud and since then never had an issue with sags (also have silicon rings / washers between the shroud and the alu piece, just to make sure).

I recently did some 5+ hours XT print without fan and with a 'closed' printer to keep temperature inside, and it is still like day 1 (It is on the printer now for about a year)

I haven't attached my new aluminum mounts yet...I figured with the new fans being shipped, wait and see

Been using a custom printed shroud for nearly a year now. Apart from a bit of "damage" around the nozzle: Not a single issue. Given that the CF should be a lot stronger I'm expecting no issues with those either.

My fan ducts above are printed in Fabadashery 'Bling Bling Gold' PLA.
And don't seem to suffer from heat droop
I have had to dial down the fans due to the efficient airflow, but so far they seem fine at coping, I was going to try a set in Proto Pasta's Aromatic coffee which is a HT PLA, but I'm also keen to try ColorFabs new HT PLA.

Forgot to say, don't forget to add the duct for the rear heat sink fan, my fan ducts will allow for this, I have also improved a design by 'James racer' but I can't see it on my account, so will reload it in the next day or so.

As you were, I fount it, it's under my print head bottom modification, which allows for the wires to exit without cutting the origional part.

Um2 block it's different specially because umo block it's aluminium (disipates faster), it's bigger so more heat disipates and it has a 40W heater by default (so heats faster). Carbon fancaps has the advantage that heat makes them stronger (go, try your failed carbon with a flame but carefull becuase if you apply too much flame it starts to burn)

First print stuff in CF with Anders' ruby nozzle (still mounted in the picture).
The bottom of the head has been reprinted, as were the 2 fan ducts, all in CF.
I really like the openness and reachability of the nozzle like this. A lot easier to clean.

Mmmmh... That duck reminds me something...

Interesting design, in the sense that these are really blowing vertically downwards, bouncing back toward the head...

I liked the UMO+ one in the sense that it generates more a radial flow. The one I made is based on the same principle, just shorter to match the nozzle size. When the fan is on you can really feel the air stream going out of the printer.

Obviously that won't work with 2 fans as they would blow against each other, but then I would be tempted to go to an asymmetric solution like the ones from Peggy.

Nothing really scientific here -- just gut feeling.
