I don't understand anything about imperial metrics, but if you use 1/8" diameter screws it should be perfect. I downloaded the Experimental Firmware with the Slow PWM and installed that into the UMO
I made no wiring changes
And it's working!!
Now granted nGen is proving to be remarkably stringy but still, I got a print with no problems!
Temp was 235 and I noticed the blobs forming, as I had seen in my no fan print. I upped the fans slightly but no real change. I brought the fans down to a value of 4 and tried lowering the temp to 230. I'm not sure if that's adhesion issues or what. I went down to 2 on fan and at the top of his chest the overhangs were bad like below. I put the temp to 232 for the head.
Temps did not wander everywhere. Very, very stable
No power issues/weird sounds from the Ulticontroller
I bet if I put PLA in the printer, that might help me calibrate the fan flow some
But still....Amedee wins big!! Saved me from playing with the soldering iron tonight.
So...a small success!

I was able to find some flat-head metric screws at the local hardware store
I also put the nuts back on the bottom of the long threaded screws. But I see that it makes the left and right fan cap rise a bit (which might be contributing to the noise on homing above)

The homming. You might fix it fast (without reprint) by just rotating the endstop a bit so it hits sonner. Can you show how much it hits on the left panel before homming so I can fix it?

Paul look AR my picture and amedees post, it's the nut on the left slider block that hits your shroud. Reverse the bolt and nut = working

Just found the UMO replacement fans are available on Fabrc8. 12v 1.2w. Almost tempted to buy a set and take some of the guess work our of my airflow

Really Paul imho more air is better, as long as it doesn't bounce to your heater. You can always try to bump up the heat if that solves your issues it's the air. Otherwise it's something like the coupler

Lepaul. Could you run this tests?
- Install a firmware without the Fankickstart. This it's very important so the fans don't go 100% causing, probably, a too high power use. Use the default firmware if you prefer.
Ok. Now.
On the ulticontroller. Without printing anything.
a) Heat bed to 60 & nozzle to 75. No need to wait for the temp. Just set it.
b) While everything it's heating set fan speed to 10/255. Look at the fans if they do move, a lot, nothing or they start to tremble.
1. If they don't move raise from 10 to 20 and keep it going until they start to move. Also, if you see they 'tremble' take note of that number and keep going in increments of 10.
2. When you get to a number where both fans actually move. Write that down too. Now. Keep going up adding 10 to fan force until you get the heater error. Write that down.

Since it is a bit quiet on the forum these days, let me share my last print.
There are days where nothing works, and sometimes all fits in place magically...
This is the case here -- it is not a difficult model to print per say, but sometimes when you have 'towers' the tops are not coming out nicely and this one came out perfectly -- the SSFS (Super Spanish Fan Shroud) is cooling the parts very effectively without adverse effect on the nozzle.
The sidewalls are very nice as well, and cherry on the cake, all parts are fitting well together.
I initially printed it as a prototype, but no need for a second print!

Printed my fan ducts yesterday in ABS, what do you think?
