Would be nice if the forum could obey the orientation metadata in photos when they are attached to a post
Almost no photos that I try to attach ends up in the correct orientation. I need to head over to a photo editor...rotate the image...even if it is not needed...and save it before this forum shows it correctly.

What camera do you use to take the pictures?

Re: Auto-rotate attached images
I've done some research and the problem lies between the user and keyboard
It's a known issue that happens sometimes. I don't see it very often tho
To clarify, the Thumbnail will be wrong but when clicked, the photo will display correctly

Re: Auto-rotate attached images
So the problem is with the forum because...
A: It happens only to thumbnails?
B: It only happens here...no where else

Re: Auto-rotate attached images
This image should look normal...but at least in preview while writing this post it is rotated.

And after submitting...it is still rotated.

Re: Auto-rotate attached images
The reason why the original looks ok is because it's the original...displayed by the browser...which honors the orientation data in the picture.

Re: Auto-rotate attached images
Well you can post on and on and on about it....there's no fix, from what I have seen in phpBB in this version. Perhaps the next

Re: Auto-rotate attached images
Found a thread, started 3yrs ago, but updated, where the developer "blames" users for the problem (remember "antenna gate")...when it would take them 10 mins to fix...OSS in a nutshell
So this is not going to be fixed. Less images posted...I never click to view the originals...I only look at the thumbnails. So I want them rotated properly...even if I have to go through an editor to "fix" it...
Enough ranting...I know it's nothing that you can control @LePaul...and I'm too lazy to fix it for them
