The media is just completely moronic these days (as the US Presidential Election coverage has revealed over and over!)

And the 3D Printing Nerd really responded well on this...1) the media is dumb 2) Why is a laser cutter calling itself a 3D printer?

Hard to believe that two people who were at MIT die from improper handling / setup of a laser cutter. I mean you should know, right? Like nowadays even dumb people should know not to dry their hamsters in the microwave. And I doubt these guys were dumb if they studied at MIT..

I say the cause was probably something different. Keep us posted?

That was one of the story mentions that caught my eye as well. It seems no matter how smart and brilliant you are, mistakes can kill

However, based on this article, no traces of contaminants found Whatever the source, it killed them and their two pet cats
