Does anyone have an opinion on the Sovol Printers?
They seem to have some nice features such as Auto Leveling and the All Metal Planetary Dual Gear Direct Drive Extruder sounds impressive!
They seem reasonably priced too.

I bought a used SV04 and the frustration I have with it is they brand it with their own version of Cura

I much prefer it when manufacturers work WITH the slicer makers so that the printer is included in the current and future builds.

Most vendors will make their special version of Cura and never update it.

The SV04 is IDEX and I am trying to figure out how to use orca slicer with it

This is exactly What Anycubic Kobra 3 Combo did.
They Run a Klipper Firmware with a A crazy cross between Orca Sliver Bambu Sliver and Prusa SLicer.
No other slicers will work with the Anycubic Kobra 3 Combo ACE what a waste.
And the printer is not too bad.

Maybe if they see posts like this one they will fix the slicer problems by releasing information.
This way we can help with getting other slicers to work with Anycubic Kobra 3 hardware and firmware.

Anycubic released (partly) the Kobra 3 firmware recently, other firmware alternatives based on full klipper might be possible now?

Yes, that's been a manufacturer pet peeve of mine for a while.

I wish they would work with their specific software maker and allow it to be a supported printer there. This way, as the software gets updates, that printer profile is there.

But, as I learned with the SV04, since it is IDEX, there's no native support anywhere. Its an odd one.
