Although when I decided to take a leap into Updating to Marlin Hici3-1.1.0-RC6_CL061316a I too was very nervous,
Even went to the obsession of ordering a replacement Controller lucky found a used one for $20.00.
Tested the controller then flashed with Chip Lucks Marlin Hici3-1.1.0-RC6_CL061316a and low and behold it worked.
From this point in time is seemed it was easier to update because I always had a backup controller.
I have killed two controllers replacing Stepper motors, just a single spare controller.
Time to scan E-bay for prices for another Backup controller so I have a spare controller for both 3D Printers.
