Filament Splicer Controller

Post by Six »

So I'm interested in the VIT SPORT Filament Splicer. But they are really dumb. Like they have no automation at all. heck there isn't even a power LED. So I'm gonna solve all of that with a customer made controller. I have a basic board designed and on order. I'm really just getting going because the coding is the hard part. for me at least. the controller has a screen, 3 buttons and a buzzer. Also a power for a standard 3d printer 100k thermistor.

I might try to code it as a PID and have it control the temp and time. or I might just make it a fancy timer that turns off power on its own.

The idea is you use one button to set the filament type, and the second button to start a cycle. Then finally an ohshit button to stop it at any time.

Would anyone be interested in one of these when I get it working? Or any coders that want one free in trade for code help? I could make them available as fully built or as kits if a lot of people want one....

IDK what do you guys think?
