0.6mm Nozzle

Hi all
Has anybody seen this video, if so what do you think, is 0.6mm nozzle the answer?

I saw it and based on other info, kinda makes sense. Before I jumped on the bandwagon, have been waiting to see what others may think. Most of the stuff I print is "structural" rather than fine detailed so it might make sense to go down this rabbit hole.
I figure it will also take some testing to get the recipe just right but may be worth it.
May just go ahead and get a pack of nozzles and see what the results are.

He's practically married to Prusa so his reviews are always skewed to that

Cura has a new feature where will adjust the flow rate (line width) that covers many of the things he mentioned. 0.6 would work fine, just depends on the details you need

I still can't get Cura 5 to work, just tried 5.1.0 and still won't load. I use Prusa for resin prints but I don't want to go through the learning curve again for FDM printing as I'm so used to Cura.
I'd like to try a 0.6mm nozzle as I do some large prints using filament and for smaller prints I use the resin printer.
Is it such a big job changing the nozzle to 0.6, from what I've seen it seems easy enough.

As you noted, changing the nozzle itself is no problem. Obviously this will require some changes to the variables in the slicer also.
As most of my prints are "Functional structures", this might speed up the process and according to some might make the results stronger?
Can't understand why you can't get Cura to load and run based on the info given. Maybe you need to run something like ccleaner after un-installing your existing 5.x and then start fresh? So far I have had no problems getting this version to run.

It appears that Cura 5 won't run on Windows 7, it needs something loaded that's only available in Windows 10 and later.
I have no desire to upgrade to Windows 10 as everything else is working fine.
I'm hoping the problem will get fixed in a later version of Cura.

Windows 7 is pretty old
Do you have a spare computer you could put Linux one? They make a version for Linux

I'm writing this on my laptop that has window 10. I know I can put it on this.
As I'm not printing anything at the moment I'm just waiting.
It's summer here and very hot 35°C during the day one day 43!, hottest we have had, so I don't feel like doing a lot at the moment, just lazing around.
As soon as it cools down a bit I'll feel more like doing things.

It has been warm over here in Maine (USA), not much rain but we got a lot of rain during June

As much as I love 3D Printing, I got the Remote Control flying bug and been doing that every day!

I wish we could get some rain to cool things down, please send some over. ;-)

That looks cool. Are they hard to fly, I suppose I should ask about landing them.
It's amazing how many things have changed because of the way batteries are developing, no more petrol engines.

The SAFE technology is great, its basically an onboard flight computer that will keep it level and only only shall angles

I started cheap with the UMX but wish I had started with the Evolution. Bigger airplane is easier to spot and flies better where lighter airplanes get bounced around more

What's your plan, to go bigger each time until you are fling a full sized plane ;-)

Well the bigger airplane can handle the light wind better than the tiny one, so the smaller ones can be tougher to master!
