Kraken Tentacles

Hi

I am yet to lose my 3D printing cherry. My first resin 3D printer is in the post and I am currently downloading the hobbyist version of AutoDesk Fusion.
I've used Inventor, SolidWorks and AutoCAD in the past for various projects so I am fairly confident in my ability to get my head around Fusion, however ...

One of my first projects is going to be Kraken tentacles entrapping a friends Lego pirate ship but I have no idea where to even start with such an organic shape.

If anyone can give me any pointers, tips, suggestions or anything they feel would help me set sail on this project I would be very grateful.

Many thanks in advance.

I'd see if something similar exists on Thingiverse or other similar site. Some of them even have the cad files.

I have used Solidworks for over 20 years. The ones you mention are all in the same category, and I wouldn't like to try to model something organic on them.
Look at something like Blender, it's free but on too easy to get into.

Thanks for the tips.

I agree with what you say, SolidWorks etc are not really cut out for organic designs.

I stumbled across Thingsverse later yesterday evening. I found a file with similar tentacles so will work with that.

Thanks again

If you manage to print the file, I'd like to see it.
