@Anders: Gawd I wish my last name was Hellsing, too <3
Btw. I never realized those Ruby nozzles have an actual ruby tip, thought that was just a cool name

Gotta get one of those for my printer. I was thinking hardened steel nozzles, but those are just not ideal..

I just chipped mine
I was doing some slicing for Sues Wanhao and forget to change it back to UM2, upon starting it went from the back left corner and ran straight over the glass clip and took a chip out of the nozzle,

Gutted only brought it a couple of months ago, now I'm going to order another for my 30th wedding anniversary next week, I know it's not a ruby anniversary but it's close enough, I'm just grateful that Sues Wanhao can't accept one at the moment
(and no one is to say it can even with a Swiss Micro upgrade, which she has, OK! Every body got that

)

A toothbrush a day keeps your knurled bolt in play!
(at least if you try to print with a ton of retractions

)
...until I can put these babies to work

Yes! I had a toothbrush stationed behind my Ultimaker Original for just such an occasion!

How's baby?
She is getting more and more active, only a matter of weeks before she is walking I guess, have been adapting my house for that lately

Haha, I asked mo colleague what people thought about her family name when she was living in the UK, and they thought it was really cool

Never thought if that myself though.
Of course it is a an actual piece of ruby in the nozzle by the way, I wouldn't have called it "ruby" if is wasn't.

Oh, that is bad. If I had spares I would have sent you a replacement but I have been low on rubies lately.

Talking about feeders, I had an opportunity to do something "useful" with our EOS M 100 metal printer the other day, so I took the chance to test a some new feeder-ideas:
I also found out how much time and effort it can take to adjust mistakes on metal prints compared to plastic prints. One really should think twice before pressing the print button on a metal printer

Well, if I had more time I would probably invent something, not sure when that time will show up though.
I just wanted to test some concepts this time and get a feeling for what one can do with the metal printer.

Yeah, one of the gears is actually fitted to my direct drive right now, I hope I have time to test it coming days.
I could send you one of the remaining gears if they work, although they are all slightly different, so I would have to test them first.

I am happy to test if you have something that can be fixed on the pancake motor without the need of a university machine shop

Hi Anders, don't worry it was one of the official boxed ones, it's all part of the learning curve

it was just one of those things and forgetting to change back the machine setup in S3D there was no visual cue as to which machine it was set to at the time, Now I double check for each print.
