I like the sound too, because it's a four stroke engine.
The new Cowl will be printed on my new DJ300, the design of the cowl is ready, but still working on my new printer.

I'm really curious about your dj 300 xl slideblocks. How they clamp the 6mm rods? They have just a hole, They just offer preassure on the assembly or its a two part setup?

@nilrog: It's a Saito FG60R3, the Moki would also be a nice engine, but too big.
The Saito has 60cc the Mokis start from 150cc...

With this I can print the cowl in 2 pieces.
When it is ready, it is shown here..

@ Blizz: That would be the DuoJet300.
This printer is my development, basically it looks like UM2, but with a lot of technical differences.
It has a 500W /230V heatbed, 2x35Watt toolhead, printarea is 300x300x275mm.

@Neotko: The sliding blocks are made of CNC milled Aluminium, the belt tensioners are made of plastic 3D printed.
The teeth of the belt are not shown, but when you tighten the screws in the 2 plastic tensioners you can set tension of the belt.
The belt can be open with this design.
The linear bearings are made of brass, self graphite.
The setscrews hold everything in place.

Lol! Yesterday changed my design and solved the shaft grip the same way !

Since you will use cnc to make the parts, maybe you can add a hard flexible material to absorb the yerk shock, it's one of my to-do on the list of improvements.

I think the belt it self is shock absorber enough.
When the printer is ready I make a challenge UM2 against DuoJet 300.

With the adjustable belt grip, wouldn't you have to start out with the blocks out of the print head as far as possible? When you tighten the screws because the belt has slack, they should be turned back in to the head, no?

In any case: You made me curious. Why not start a new topic specifically about your progress? Seems like something that would interest a lot of people.
