I mean there seems to be an additional part there: My plan is to go with the 40x40, in nGen which has an higher Tg than XT-CF, and with alu tape to play it safe.

UMO should work quite easily, just the matter of re-arranging the cables. UMO+ is mounted with heater block in the other direction (like described in the manual ), hopefully I can just turn it without having to mode the wire positions, I am not in the mood of disassembling the whole shebang

My package of nGen arrived last night. Now that I have a 'temporary" fan shroud, I might try this too.

Of course, now I have to re-do all my settings in Cura ...so you test this out for me Let me know what settings work for you!

Yea that part it's a hotend cooler for the ptfe coupler and that also (I should upload the img that shows it) cuts the dripping by quite a lot (and increasing ptfe life)

The 40x40 with ngen should work perfect. For my next fans I'm going to use BioTEC (but other brand cheaper) that goes up to 120C and prints at 200-220C also just 55€ kilo. But my new filament won't arrived until 18th

I'll post a photo of the pla version with aluminum later. It works quite nice, so ngen should just be perfect.

Is the 50x50 version on Youmagine current?

50x50 version will get one change since it hits the side on Titus umo. But please you need to read the full tutorial before using it

Do you kow how much mA we can draw from the 5V fan on the Ultiboard V2?
What are the specs of the original UM2 fan?

(For the 1.5.3 board it is easy: nothing -- I already need to power the board with external 5V )

Will an aluminum Ultimaker 2 fan shroud fit on the Ultimaker? Or is it too tall?

Lepaul. Ultimaker 2 fancap it's for it's 30x30 hotend and it clips on the aluminium of the hotend. Umo while the central it's 30x30 the outside it's 50x50.

Amedee. I use a Sunon that it's almost like the one from um2 (but 1cm instead of 7mm depth)

The Sunon um2 uses consumes:
Hot-end_Cooling_Fan_5VDC_0.08A_(x1)

I think mine it's 86mA

Well the 50x50 bottom_left & right and the fancap it's updated. I shouldn't hit the frame anymore. Anyway someday I'll try to rebuild the full rhino file of this size to properly redo it. Anyhow seems it's ok.

Like this one (30x30) or this one (25x25)?

I use 30x30 on one of my umo+ it works but it moves too much air since its 24v. On other umo I use the 25x25
5v one. Ofc the one with the 30x30 takes much longer to reach the temp and I use an external pwm box to control if it's on/off. Curiously that is one prints better (little bit) but I'm not sure if that's the reason. There are way too many factors anyhow.

On your Fan Shroud design, why do we need these 'clamp' parts on each side?

I made long ago many fans without that and they end shacking on the long term. With an aditional flat area that can be controlled I can avoid any vibration and make it stronger since without that when you push on one side the movement translates to the other side, but with the clamps the force needed to tilt the fancap it's much higher. Just print it without it and print at high speed to check it. A few print hours and it will start rumbling and making noises.

Basically when one part touches the other they become one with preassure, so the force distributes. I have ZERO knowhow, I just now by trial and error that doing it this way works. Also it could be done all with one print, but the amount of supports to do so would be HUGE.

So..

- Structural integrity
- No supports (unless you print it on carbon since carbon can't bridge at all..)
- Easy to repair/upgrade/replace parts.

Oh also Amedee. I made all the Rhino/Step files available for 30-40 size fans. It included the curves to make the area of the air output. So everything can be customized. So please improve it! The more the merrier, I got the idea on a weekend and I did the design while my wife was a bit sick so I had to express the design since I wanted to make the fancap tutorial more interesting for sandervg/ultimaker and not just use a random youmagine fancap that I never used. Also it was a nice challenge to finish the design in just a week and write all the tutorial photos at the same time
