I have been trying to follow the thread you have at Ultimaker and here....since my next bit of testing in the XT-CF20, I'm curious the status of your dual shroud?

Mine? Working 8h a day. A week ago I had to clean the nozzle hole with a exacto knife because. But so far so good. There's a issue on umo (non plus) that if the bottom-left/right ain't push-up with m3 screws like on the umo+ assembly, then it curves. But... I don't have umo long screws... I should buy some to adjust the assembly notes, but also if the users uses x4 nuts it should work.

Also been doing a test with pla print fancap and aluminium tape and it's very impressive aince so far it hasn't warp... I think the best option it's to use biotec pla that can hold 120C and prints at 200C but it's a bit expensive 55€/kilo

You may have already tried this...but...I wonder, if you look on eBay, there are those China Ultimaker 2 fan shrouds with fan. Has anyone tried using that on a UMO print head? I have a spare print head from the dual kit, so lining up the threaded rod holes would be easy...not sure the opening for the nozzle would be an exact match. And of course, the Ulimater 2+ shroud points straight down now...so I'd be a version behind yet again

Neotko, an update as my kapton tape just arrived:

I added the 4x m4 nuts, but it doesn't really help. I think either the weight is just too much,
OR (I'd put my money on this one):
When I drilled the holes in the bottom half(because 1st version stl didn't have any holes), I might have drilled them a millimeter too close to each other(left and right fan), causing the entire shroud to disform in order to fit.

The nozzle is quite nice and clear of the hole now I'm using the ruby nozzle
Anyway, there is small air gap, so I'll go ahead and apply the kapton and see if the carbon holds.

Btw my pla version on um2 with aluminium tape it's holding very very nicely. I bet 5€ that if you print the fancap on pla and use aluminium tape + kapton, it would last at least 2-3months

Btw 2nd part. If you print it on pla it's superfast because it doesn't need support at all. It bridges naturally really nice (fans full ofc).

Also it would help me a lot to test it. I did the basic test with a pla printed 50x50 fancap and everything seemed in order. But the fan weight indeed might affect (it shouldn't but maybe). The natural preassure from both fans it's counterweight by the central flat area. That's why it's also important to kapton/aluminium tape it.

Also. Use an exacto knife or a file to clean the hole.

Sadly I don't have any aluminium tape Can you link the type, then I can have a look here in The Netherlands if I can buy that without spending a lot

Oh boy oh boy, I got make pictures but that is one sweet looking Ultibot with the dual fanshrouds and Ruby nozzle

Oh and I found out that the 50mm has another minor flaw, in some cases(1 axis already homed) the shroud hits the wood:

Oh weird! But I thought of that could happen with a different z level since the sides are curved. Weird on mine passed by 1mm. I'll have to give it a full 1mm clearance then.

Btw pla fan cap with aluminium has zero warped on today check. Only the area without tape that gets heat from the bed suffered a bit. I'll try to fix that 1mm this weekend so you can pla print it with only changing the bottom left/right parts. That's the beauty of modular design, you only need to change one part to fix it (yes I clap myself XD)

All inone it's for 40x40x20 fans. The other sizes are separated. You want a special size? For you anything !
