Initial power on all steppers move one direction for a second then reverse for a second

Post by distantkitty »

I just built the Hictop 3DP-11-AT, upon initial power on all the stepper motors move one direction for about a second then reverse motion. The cooling fans also rev up and slow down in similar fashion, the heated build platform heats up automatically as well....what is going on? I've let it run for about a minute and just turned it off.

The LCD does power on and I do get temp readings, any idea or suggestions would be appreciated. I can't seem to find the firmware for this printer either.

Thanks!

I don't run a Hitop, but it could be something as simple as a system check, making sure all the motors etc are connected and functioning.

Had something similar when changing my UMO steppers to SSS, but only on one axis. it was a missing pullup at the arduino input pin which lead to this behavior... don´t know if it could be something similar...
