Anycubic Kobra 3 Combo

Post by Roberts_Clif »

Well I made some progress I printed some smaller two color Dino Clips
Two color Dino Clips.jpg
I have been having about as many problems as I can stand right now.
First I break the Filament inside the PTFE feeder tubes getting caught in the the filament adapter four colors in on color out.
This leads the the filament crashing into each other if you are a newbie like me an have no ideal what to and not to do.

Then I have the filament not wanting to stick to the textured sprint steel smooth high temp bed.
Or
It sticks too well I I can not get it to release easily.

Have destroyed to smooth beds, not to worry I placed a PEI sheet over the bed so I can 3D Print on a normal PEI bed from time to time.
This in its self leads to another problem the filament need to be hot enough to stick to the bed and the bed needs to be hot enough,
to allow the heated filament to stick to it, this caused the bed surface to release from the smooth bed causing layer deterioration.

Could use some help after the holidays. unless you have a few moments you can space.

Oh! If any one has this 3D Printer AnyCubic Kobra 3 Combo the waste can be reduced by 60% if you know where to go.

Watch this video on I left mine on 0.4

Today wanted to let you know something about the anycubic Kobra 3 combo.

I have found out that if at any time during printing start routine if you so much as touch the nozzle you will mess with the nozzle height.
My Anycubic Kobra 3 combo had already calibrated and wiped nozzle on rear nozzle wipe mat.
While at the Poop station noticed a glob of filament hanging from nozzle, instantly grabbed my tweezers pulled the glob off.
A few seconds later the Anycubic Kobra 3 combo decided that the nozzle heights was too low and did a re-calibration of nozzle height.

Earlier noticed the same just before the print started a glob on filament on bed reached for it and threw off the nozzle height for a failed first layer.
Never had this happen with my Hictop's and their separate proximity sensors. though with a sensor in nozzle assemble you have to leave it alone.

This is just a note for all who are new to Anycubic style of bed sensing, now you will know what to expect.

Here is a single Image of my Anycubic Kobra 3 prints showing two wipe tower from the same G-Code.

Wipe Towers image

They should look like clones one print worked the other was failed because of nozzle high.
I have two Kobras 3 Combos and both do this at random for unknown reasons are not estimating bed location after many probings.
It is really crazy this stupid Kobra 3 tests Z-Offset height more time on a single print than all three Hictops printers did in a day.
And the first part to print is the wipe tower and it fails on 50% of my prints, no reason continuing if wipe tower fails.

Yesterday I found the newest Orca Slicer 2.3.0 RC Build 79a5a9b build and printed using a USB Flash drive.

This means maybe the Anycubic Kobra 3 users have 2nd chose of slicer that will print models with a Anycubic Kobra 3 Combo

Orca Slicer 2.3.0 RCwas released 6 hours ago.

Well did not change colors will have to look into this.

Yesterday
Well thought is would work simply because Orca Slicer 2.3.0 RC lists AnuCubic Kobra 3 in compatible Printers lists.

I guess in a way it does work because it will print a mono print though not a multiple color model.
OK back to looking for a better slicer for my Anycubic Kobra 3 combo.

OK today I tried again by placing 3 different color models on the same build plate. the results were great.
I printed 3 completely different color model gears of spiral graph on the same build plate at the same time..

So my thanks to Orca Slicer 2.3.0 RC for finding a way to get Kobra 3 combo printing in color..

now maybe I can figure a way to get it to print using my painted objects.
I do not believe that posting a Photo does any good just try to print as I have stated an you will see.

I swear I did a color print using Prusa slicer but could never could duplicate, now I will try duplicating this again.
Using this same method of printing 3 Separate color models on the same build plate.

Here we have a Painted object shown in the photo below.

If the Painted is in Object mode then they will have a place to select/change the filament.

Painted Object

Else if they do not have, then the filament will not change in this global mode.

I found a work around.

If you load your model into Bambu Studio create all the Painted surfaces and save to 3MF file
Reload model into Orca Slicer 2.3.0-RC change to your Kobra 3 and filament profiles slice and save to USB flash drive then print with Kobra 3.

That's cool that you're having good luck with the Anycubic.

I'm still collecting parts to totally rebuild two junked Chirons

Had my Kobra 3 for a few months now, a few failed prints, mostly because of user error's.
There's a certain learning curve in relation to the Kobra 3 multi-color 3D Printer.
Just because a 3D Printer can print at 600 mm/s does not mean it will print perfect at this speed.

Remember when I started to using different slicers with my Hictop's, some slicer configs had undesirable effects.
This forced me to do a factory restore this restore my hictops 3D Printer back to a working configuration.
The same holds true for the new multi-color printing Kobra 3's.

And require a factory restore to get the Kobra 3 Printers printing correctly again.
One print cause my printer to print 1.5mm above the bed until Factory restore was preformed.
For what ever reason it would not auto level to the correct nozzle height for good bed adhesion.
