8k Elegoo Resin won't stick to the plate
hey,
i'm using Elegoo 8k Red Clay Resin that keeps peeling off the plate. The only thing i can think of is the Temp. Mid 60's
Could temp really make that happen?
Standard Elegoo Resin no problem btw
Slow Speed
Mars Ultra 4
Layer Height .040
Exposure 3.5
Bottom Layer Count 5
Bottom Exposure 60
bottom and Lift Distance 4-6

It could be the temperature, I've had problems when the printer was cold. I think they say it should be at least 20°C.

thanks Lez0,
it's gotta be right? 60 bottom exposure should secure anything.

Re: 8k Elegoo Resin won't stick to the plate
tried it again, with a different Model at 19.4 degrees Celsius/67 degrees F. and i upped the bottom exposure to 75
Got Exactly the same result. the Pics also show the rear side of the Model is always where it's peeling off

Is it only with this part you have problems.
You say you printed this part with Elegoo standard resin OK?
Do you have an image of the model?

Re: 8k Elegoo Resin won't stick to the plate
so i warmed up the Resin Bottle in warm water and got it to stick to the base, only to have it Fail partly thru the Print.
So for this Resin to function correctly i have to:
A. have a small heater aimed at the machine
B. Raise the temperature in the entire house
C. Print from July to August
i must be missing something here.

Re: 8k Elegoo Resin won't stick to the plate
I have to put a heater on mine in the winter as it's in the garage. It get nice and warm to around 30°C.
I print Elegoo ABS like resin.
Perhaps the 8k resin is just so fussy.

Re: 8k Elegoo Resin won't stick to the plate
got a small heater and did some tests. tests ranging from 20-35 degrees Failed to stick to the plate everytime.
so i increased it up till around 40 degrees. only then would it stick. the final print has structural errors which i guarantee are from this Temp thing.
my supports are Extensive to say the least
my opinion as of now, is that not all Resin Batches are the same. i was using anycubic plant resin for years then overnight i had to literally Chissel the print off the plate at 20 bottom exposure.

Re: 8k Elegoo Resin won't stick to the plate
I have suspected resins change with different batches. Age could be a problem as well.
I've been doing a lot of multiple prints all the same. I would get a problem with an odd one out of 10 prints.
Perhaps I haven't shaken the bottle enough, who knows.
I have tried different resins and found the Elegoo ABS like resin to be the most consistent, (not tried the 2.0 or 3.0 version).
I've heard different stories about the 2.0 & 3.0, some good some bad, that's why I haven't tried them.

Elegoo ABS Like resin.
It's getting harder to buy it as they are pushing V3 or 8K.-

Re: 8k Elegoo Resin won't stick to the plate
looks interesting. is it good for fine detail? how flexible and tough is it?
Also, this problem i had turned out to be a Leveling issue. Apparently the Saturn 4 Ultra, which has Auto-Leveling, can be Manually Leveled now. so that fixed the issue i was having with sticking to the plate.

Re: 8k Elegoo Resin won't stick to the plate
I have done some very small parts and they printed fine, so I don't have a problem with fine details.
I don't know how you would say how tough it is but I would say of all the resins I have printed, this is the toughest.
