1ST PETG Print

Post by Roberts_Clif »

Well just printed my very first small model using pink PETG.
1ST PETG.jpg
I printed it a little below temp to see what happens, as it was melting at 200C

Nozzle temp 226C
Bed temp 56C

Looks good!!! For my fist PETG should have printed about 10% slower but temps look good.
Forgot to fix my leaky nozzle, And discovered that it is only the nozzle leaking.

Very good. How did the thread turn out, does it screw together?

Yes it screws together great.

I was informed if I was raise the hot-end and bed temps would have turned out a better printed model.

I have done quite a few threads, the smallest was M5 using a resin printer. I always have to play about with the clearance to get the parts to screw together. You managed first go, well done.

Well thank you Lez0,

I worked hard to get my 3D Printers to work this well.
Had many problems with different versions of marlin until Marlin 2.0.9.2 this is where of paused on firmware updates.
Although sometime we all get a lucky streak, Ha HA ha!!
This old 8-bit Ramps compatible controller just really like this marlin 2.0.9.2.

Thank you.

I have never printed anything that small
samples

Filament Spool holder
UNIVERSAL SPOOL HOLDER.jpg
Pop bottle bird feeder
IMG_2532.JPG
and cylinder containers

When they arrive I get to start learning a completely new 3D Printer from scratch again.
I just purchased Two Anycubic Kobra 3 Combos

I can have one 8 color printer and one Mono 3D Printer
OR
I can have two 4 color printers
Still I can print with either as a single color

To date I only need the 8 colors option for a single project, thought I will have many more projects.

I like the bird feeder, nice design.
You must have quite a few printers now having just bought 2 more.

I did not design the spool holder or the pop bottle Bird feeder they are located in Thingiverse.
Though I have printed a dozen spool holders and can not count how many pop bottle bird feeders I've printed.

Currently I have 7 printers though will not keep them all.
Will keep my one or two of my Hictops an my Home brew CoreXY Hictop though it will be repurposed into a CNC.
May try an use it for both wood and Aluminum

My Hictops will be refitted given Different hot-ends have already given one a Flexible spring steel bed surface.
Don't know how long hotbeds last, they have worked 9 years, not bad for 1-2 hundred dollar 2nd hand Printers.
And for a couple years they were running 24/7. They are still fairly level this is reason for Spring steel surfaces.
Trying to get the longest life I can out of them. Though when they have made their final 3D Print I will know.

My new 3D Printers can out print the old ones by far, may not even need the old ones. May purchase another new one.
