Anycubic i3 Mega - Stencil print

Post by Supermario_99 »

Hello,
I am trying to print PLA stencils for spray painting. I already managed to print a few but now I ran into an issue and I can't fix it.
The print consists only of two layers and as soon as I start printing I get really bad stringing at the first layer. I've attached some pictures. I levelled the printbed like 3 times and it should be just fine. The nozzle and printhead are practically new, but every time I try this print the nozzle is full of plastic on the outside...

Settings in Cura:

Temp: 185-195 °C (no difference)
speed: 35-55 mm/s (little better with slow speeds)
Heatbed temp.: 60°C
Layer height: 0.12 mm

Any tipps and help are appreciated.
Thanks

I have this surface on my printer. Have you given it a good clean?

I print using PLA at the below settings for first layer only
Settings in Cura:

Temp: 200-210 °C (no difference)
speed: 32-50 mm/s
Heatbed temp.: 52-56°C
Layer height: 0.15 mm

Then change the print speed to speed: 72-86 mm/s

P.S. have the same logo on my print bed surface

Thank you for the answers. I've cleaned the bed again and tried out some settings but I think it's a hardware issue.
It looks like the nozzle is just oozing on itself instead of printing the thin line on the printbed...
But I dont't think a nozzle change would solve it since it's almost new. I'm really frustrated at this point... :-?

I would strip down the nozzle. There will probably be a PTFE tube in there and it may have moved.
It does sound like the nozzle is a bit blocked.

Thanks for the suggestion,
I did a cold pull and then disassembled the hotend, checked the nozzle and the tube, but everything looks clean and good.
I really don't know what's wrong.

I don't mean to be smug but my Anycubic Chiron is a complete disaster. The stock hot end jammed quickly and the second hot end assembly quickly did the same. Members of the Facebook group commented its a known issue of the low quality (crap) hot ends. Some mentioned the thermosistors used are off by 10 - 20 C

Knowing that and experiencing their poor tech support, you might consider replacing it with an E3D or something reliable.

That's good to know, thanks :)
I finally got it working. I took off the magnetic printsurface and printed on the stock-glass-bed and it worked just fine.
I guess the bed was warped or something ...

Thanks for the help.
