Re: Octoprint Anywhere Plugin
Mixed results. I just had Octoprint crash 40 minutes from finishing a 14 hour print (of course, using my most expensive coffee PLA). I think I recovered, mostly, but it was painful. The printer at least showed the XYZ coordinates where it stopped. Octoprint web interface was frozen since early this afternoon when I left to run errands and I didn't bother checking the web interface when I returned as it was still printing strong.
I mostly recovered, and this is a print just for me, so not like I am completely out $13 in material (this print normally would cost $3.85 in Hatchbox Black, but coffee PLA is $45/500g, 4x more expensive). You can see where it restarted in this photo. Edit: The reason I say 'mixed results' is that this is the only plugin I have installed in the last month, and I haven't printed very much since installing it. Not sure if it is directly related as there is nothing in the logs to indicate where the failure lies (actually, the logs also stopped about 5 hours before octoprint app crashed). Note that the RPI that is running Octoprint service is very much alive and well, and didn't require a reboot.

Re: Octoprint Anywhere Plugin
One thing I noticed with this plug in is the large use of bandwidth...I've had to power them off when not in use. (Only have 10mb up from Internet Provider)

I noticed that too. My firewall connection graph is parallel for up and down. Killing the plugin for now.

Re: Octoprint Anywhere Plugin
I would suggest...and ask...that you comment on the github thread here....
https://github.com/kennethjiang/OctoPri ... -368259131
It's a nice plugin and it would be nice to simply have some sort of "off and on" ability on when to let it stream.
I'd like to see it only do so when a print is running. Programming wise, there must be a way since you can't touch the video settings once a print is underway.

Re: Octoprint Anywhere Plugin
I think the problem is that the way the site works is it needs the steady stream to be active. I had read the bug report, and there isn't much more I could add that hasn't already been stated, other than to show data that verifies large amounts of TX traffic (which they already know). I can't prove that this was the failure point for my crash as nothing is showing in the logs (no crash data).

Right, I didn't think there was anything there to assist with your crash
But I would suggest you join the comments so we can have some sort of Off/On ability on streaming while printing

Re: Octoprint Anywhere Plugin
Well, I added a suggestion and he ran with it. New update released this morning. I've loaded it on my printers, and since they will be idle for the next few days, this will be a decent test to see if there is improvement.
