I need help badly! :(

Post by Shazam0527 »

My stepper motor stopped working all of a sudden - so I bought a new stepper and that didn't work either. I checked the connector to make sure it was solid on both ends, and it was. I plugged in a third stepper and still no dice. Is it possible that the stepper motor connection on the board went bad after only 4 months? Is there a fix?

Please help! :(

Yes it could have died, if you were running too much current through the drivers. Yes if it died you can replace the Driver.
In some cases as simply as plugging in a new driver board, others require un-soldering the Driver Chip and re-soldering a replacement.

There are many stepper motors, some are wired differently, some require more current.
There are numinous controllers and 3D Printers may also help to know what we are trying to fix.
If I told you to do something for one printer it could be exactly the opposite for another.

Question
Does it make and noise, when you activate it does it lock in place, does it vibrate or shake.
Stepper not working is very vague. Could you supply more information.
