Cleaning up a PLA BLOB !

Post by LePaul »

I had a print fail very early into a print...but long enough for the hot end to push, shove and melt a lot of filament inside the fan should and heater block. Ahhhhh! But...I got it cleaned up!

I got a bit scared when seeing you with the big wire brush inside of the printer :-)

I had similar accidents before and the wiping off of the hot filament worked surprisingly good for me too. After removing what I could in cold state and then wiping off more with a heated up hotend, I always took apart the hotend afterwards and used a Dremel with a brass wire brush to cleanup the block and the screw that keeps heater and temp sensor in place.
