I haven't mounted them yet, but mine have a CFM of 7.9 at 24V -- So if yours are at 14.13 at 12V you are pushing 4 times more air

(But I don't say mine are better...)

I'm not looking to see which is better :) I am just curious to see what others are using....thank you for your data!

Are you going to add a fan to the front to cool the coupler?

Well the wiring has gone well. Tried to re-print the top pieces and again got a lousy print.

Removing the XT-CF20 and doing an Atomic pull in a moment....nGen is going in! Adjusting the Cura settings now

Well the fan is off and nGen is loaded up. This stuff flows really really nice.

To counter the No Fan technicality....I am printing both parts at once. I'm hoping that's enough layer time between each piece!

So in comparing the two shrouds...somehow one is vertical near the print head, one isn't. Same file on both prints. My first attempt lines up!

What a night

So...fans in!

So I tried the robot test print.

Well the minute the fans go on, it goes to max (255). I tried to reel it down via Ulticontroller down to 10. Then the Ulticontroller beeps sound different, the print head temp bounces everywhere and then I get this...

So disappointed.

So. Your fans don't have pwm?

The nozzle isn't touching the hole I suppose right?

I think the temp sensor wires are picking up interference from the pwm fan wires.
Keep the fan wires as far apart from the temp sensor wires as possible.
You can try to twist the fan wires to reduce the interference.
Soldering a small ceramic capacitor on the fan connector on the pcb might also help.

It is because of the thermocouple. Thermistor / PT100 should not be affected.

No, I should just stop listening to Neo's ideas :)

First, I DO NOT HAVE A UMO+. I have an Ultimaker Original :)

Second, the wires are wrapped in the plastic wrap where the other wiring is. If that's causing some feedback, I'll find a way to make sure those wires aren't near one another and remove them from that bundle all together.

Would this explain why the Ulticontroller beep sounds more labored when the fans run up high?

Are my fans too powerful? I know I asked many times here and on Ultimaker for suggestions on replacement fans. While I'm disappointed no one from Ultimaker answered my question (shocking, I know...), about the only thing I had to go on was size and lowest possible power usage.

Now, the good news in all of this...

1) Neo's shroud fit. No idea why the second one was so far off. The nozzle isn't touching but I may widen the hole a small bit

2) Fan's operate through Ulticontroller fine....up and down, they respond. That part works. I just don't get why the test print set them to 255?
