x belt damaged by metal guider

Post by Linda »

Hi there,
I just bought my first 3D printer a creality cr 10. I printed 3 items and now I notice the x belt is damaged. It is damaged by the metal guider on the right. I tried moving the belt to the middle, but it just went back and runs under the sharp edge of the metal. What can I do to fix that?

That's weird, is the belt loose? I had to tighten mine up since I saw it bouncing around inside that channel

For a replacement part(s), I'd check out Tiny Machines https://tiny-machines-3d.myshopify.com/

You can recenter it by loosening the bracket and adjusting one side vs the other. What it is showing is that your brackets are not 100% square to the channel. Pulling one bracket out just 0.5-1mm will make a massive difference.

Hi, I checked the video and still cannot center my belt. Looks like the space my belt has is bigger then with the guy in the video.
And to make things worse... I noticed a stretched z-axis base and the z-axis is higer than the printer frame (at least 5 cm).
I have asked to let me return it for another one...

I do not know exactly how the belt alignment on the CR-10 works exactly.

I was having many problems with my 3DP11/3DP12 Hictops the belt would wonder first right then left but would never run true.
Now I replaced the bearing with a pair of bearings with a flange this keep the belt running between the flanges and running true.
Attached is the bearing that I settled on. It was half the width of the original bearing thus the need to replace a single bearing with two.
I know some alignment are difficult though with practice all can be achieved.
