The body "triangle" pieces of BB-8's body are now being printed.... here's the first of 8 I have to do for the first droid.
These came out superb, no issues! 0.2 mm layer height, 40% infill for strength and using PLA.
(I've been back and forth on using different materials for the body shell, concerned about heat causing things to deform. Since the PLA transition temp is 65C, and I do not see this droid ever left sitting in a hot vehicle, I am fine with PLA. Other materials have shrinkage/warping issues that concern me. I also know the stock hot end on the CR-10 may/may not work with them very well.)
Here's the results...
Success! Very large print!

Looks lovely!
Did you have a look at Formfutura's TitanX filament? I am becoming a big fan of it, apparently. Maybe, it will be suitable for your needs, too.

I'm struggling to find a USA retailer, @shurik
Also, I don't want to use ABS
But their PETG looks interesting

I'm a bit amazed....I've used up a 2.2kg spool of ColorFabb Economy white in that CR-10 in just over a month.
