Hi all
I am starting to do longer prints, the problem is the power supply in our house isn't good.
I have a ups on the PC's, but what size will I need for the FT-5.
The power usually goes off for 1 min sometime a little bit longer but generally no more than 5 mins..
It's frustrating getting 2 hours into a print and the power goes off.
Any advice would be welcome as electrics is not my strong point.

Thanks

All UPS manufacturers have sizing tools that help you to choose, you will probably need a model rated for something like 1000 to 1500VA to get enough runtime (if you can have a 5min power outage, you should size your UPS for at least a 8-10min runtime, since the battery will degrade over time).'

Check for example: http://www.apc.com/tools/ups_selector/ or http://upsselector.eaton.com/

you will need to know the voltage and wattage or VA your printer runs at while printing the highest temperature you every print at to be safe. then you can use the link below to calculate the size you need. After you select "find UPS" you can then adjust the max time you need your printer to run for while power is off.

That's a gem of a site...I know my CR-10 and FT-5 have similar, 360 watt power supplies

Looks like most of the sub $200 UPS products listed would last all of 5 minutes...enough for a blip tho
