Blackbelt

Post by Blizz »

So there's a new kickstarter out for the Blackbelt 3d Printer
It prints on a belt so in theory it can produce items of unlimited length by 34cmx34cm:

Also, they claim that since the print is done under 45º instead of from 90, they can do 90º overhangs without problems (probably as long as its only on the printhead side of the print).

What do you guys think?

As for the lack of overhangs, I think it's a bit of a lie. Even in the video on kickstarter have a visible artifacts of print even not overhangs, but the simple vertical walls of products. it is also unclear how they will solve the problem of adhesion of plastic to the belt. And detachment from it, too. I like the idea of belt, but there are too many uncertainties.
