I'm curious about the results. At the show they had two running and both prints failed (sorry to mention!)

I'm really curious how it handles large prints with support (like the ones I do often)

:-) my company decided to order an UM3. Will see the results soon, and hope that I gave them the right recommendation...

Further I gave them the advice to add a set of cores to their purchase so that best case I can get my fingers on one to take a detailed look (and do some emasurements)...

so I have had mixed results.
just to be open, I have ran an UM3 for 4 weeks now, and am running 2 UM3 Extendeds and 2 UM3 normal ones for a day or 2 now..

overall, the printing quality is better as compared to the UM2+. my pet peeve is with the feeders, and I am not happy with them. granted, they seem to perform better then compared to the UM2+, but i still have feeding failures with filaments like NGEN Flex. so I will be hacking BondTech feeders onto them..

but as far as reliability, I ahve done multiple 48+ hour prints without a problem. the only issue i see is that you cannot attach large spools, so you have to have them on a seperate spool holder..

Are you getting jams?

i've had some weird jams with PVA, but that was more when i tried to combine it with unsupported materials and it filled up the front of the nozzle with different materials (picking it up from the prime tower).

overall i am not unhappy.

i think it's a very solid design and trustworthy. i have one with about 600 hours of continuous printing now, and still going strong. no problems there yet.

i am getting some bondtech feeders in today, see if that actually makes a difference..

Not allowed to share it :( But if people are ever at the office, I may or may not have footage of this historical event.

Which "actual physical launch" do you mean? Held at the home office?

Well you have a product launch in the figurative (and today most commonly used) sense; A new product that is released into the world.
You also have the literal product launch (More common in the days of the trebuchet); You take a physical object and launch it by means of applying excessive force to it.

In this case, I'm talking about the second option, which is always the more fun version of the two.

Uh. If we did such a thing, we would have done it with an Airbag. But Ultimaker being the professional company that it is, we would never do such a thing.

On a completely unrelated note; We do know that Ultimakers don't handle large & sudden accelerations well.
