Loading by hostname instead of IP?

I'm searching around but not finding it....but if I do, I'll share....
In the Octoprint setup (web interface), I changed the Appearance setting title so I know which device I have connected to ("Ultimaker 2+" or "Creality CR-10")
I can connect find via IP but I would like to use the hostname. I can't seem to find a good way to do that. I see some posts about local DNS and other extensive network settings
