I recently decided to try connecting my Hictop I3 to the Ubuntu box that I have sitting at the same desk and running it through Simplify3D. The only issue I am running into is that the Ubuntu doesn't seem to recognize the printer. I have looked for a driver, but couldn't seem to find anything. I'm sure I'm just missing something simple, but any help I can get would be appreciated.
My printer is running 1.1RC6, and I am running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS.
Thanks in advance.
Will not connect to Ubuntu machine.

Re: Will not connect to Ubuntu machine.
It should show up as either /dev/ttyUSB0 or /dev/ttyACM0 (depending on the control board rev).
There is no need for a special driver.

I figured it out. I had forgotten to add the user account to the dialout group.
