Print a brick

Post by vintage89 »

Hey all,
I recently found the printabrick.org page, and wanted to try and print som lego sets to build.

I'm experiencing some troubles with the bricks. It seems like the outer wall is to thick, so I can't place two bricks side by side.

Have anybody tried this page sucessfully? What slicer did you use? Settings?

I have a Flashforge Finder 3D printer.

Hi
I don't know which brick you downloaded but I downloaded a 2x4 lego brick and measured it.
Real Lego brick 15.78x31.78 downloaded stl file 16x32.
So the 3D model is not to scale. I am guessing Lego have a small gap between the bricks so you can assemble them.
Also I always make 3D models like this about 0.2mm smaller to get a fit as the printer isn't perfect so you get a slight increase in size due to the finish.
I hope this helps.

Afaik Mantisrobot uses brick from https://www.thingiverse.com/projunk/designs and not printabrick.org.
But he also says that he tweaked them, but probably mostly because he prints them LARGE :P

Judging form the check Lez0 did you may need to slightly adjust the scale of the brick from printabrick, and also depending on the accuracy of your printer.
