Has Anyone Experienced This Strange Movement?!

Post by alielsayid »

I upgraded my 3D printer to the latest Marlin firmware, while printing the first layer the extruder moves away from the print in a straight line, sometimes in the X direction and other times in Y direction and then returns to the print and resumes printing. This strange movement doesn't happen at the same location every time. There is nothing in the Gcode that commands this move, it seems related to temperature threshold somewhere in the firmware. I didn't have this issue with the old Marlin firmware. I'm using Arduino Mega with RAMPS 1.4.
Any help in solving this issue will be appreciated.

Thanks

with latest Marlin, you mean Release 1.1.3 ?
I can´t get it running at my machine reliable - always strange things happens...
but in my case i guess, it's a typical Error80, so the guy in front makes mistakes during setup.

I am currently using this version Marlin-RC8BF-HICi3.

You can use the last stable release 1.1.1 I have not elected to change as my 3D Printers are working perfect now.

I have made software changes for the run-out filament sensor using a lighted end stop switch, and setup for a TL-W3M Proximity sensor.
Using the Auto bed leveling Linear, Z Safe Homing to Center bed and 2560 Z Steps.

I'm using the latest Marlin Firmware 1.1.3 – June 2017, which is having this issue. Till now I couldn't find the problem. I just upgraded the firmware, I didn't change any hardware in the printer.

It only take a simply cardboard box that your controller will fit inside. Cover outside of the box with aluminum foil then connect the foil to ground, ("Use a jumper wire with alligators clips"). cut a few vent holes allow for a cooling fan. You can now place controller inside the box.
