Print suggestions for demo'ing 3D printers

Post by LePaul »

I am curious on some prints I should make...or print...while I have the printers on display for the upcoming comic-con event.

The general public knows about 3D printing....but few understand the "usefulness". Many people think they just make stupid toys and that's about it.

I'll have many sections of my BB-8 project on display and several printed R2-D2 parts...so people can see the usefulness in prop making.

But...I am interested to know what prints you would suggest I do, that advocate the use of these amazing devices!

(Please include links to the model if you have suggestions!)

Thingiverse has some business card holders (this is a small sample). You could also find something artsy, like a small lamp.
The key is knowing what your timeline is to print something (plan for a few redo's), the audience you are trying to impress, and how much (and type) of filament you have or are willing to burn through.

Luggage labels are popular and easy to make.
