Hi, gang!

I try to build my own printer and need your help.
Ramps board with TMC2100 stepper drivers as a base.

What best parameters of stepper motors must be in these configuration? 0.5A or 1A? Optimal torque and torque innertion? They all must be equal, or for best perfomance i must use different motors on axis and extruder?

The TMC2100 IC should be able to handle every bipolar stepper motor up to 1 A so long as you can configure it through the CFG pins. You can do more than just set the microstepping and chopper mode. For example, you can configure the copper off time, hysteresis and blank time. Afaik, some or even all of these are hard-wired on the SilentStepStick, but I'm not sure, never had one... I built my own TMC2100 drivers with access to all CFG pins.

I think all "the usual" NEMA17 motors you can get at reprap stores should work fine, since the SilentStepStick was made for them.
