Talking about coffee, I just had to order a new laptop for work, since I managed to fill my old laptop with coffee, which it did not like..

No photos of that incident, unfortunately.reibuehl wrote:Pictures or it didn't happen!
Unplugging the power cord and the battery ASAP was the only thing in my mind as the keyboard was instantly filled with coffee and the excess was pouring onto the desk and further down on the floor.
And I don't think taking a photo of the incident rather than trying to save the machine would have increased the likelihood of my boss paying a new computer too.
I did drain the coffee as soon as I could, then rinsed the laptop in deionized water for some time and then I dried it at 50 C for 24 hours.
Still though, it was completely dead and the repair shop said it was not much to do.
The step-down converters and charging circuits are located on the main board, right under the keyboard, on that model.
I suppose they did not like coffee..

This is unsettling! Are you trying to split the group in 2 paul
Tea is superior! And having 1 topic is better I'd say. Perhaps renaming it to general chat?

But then we'd need to close this topic and the tea topic!
Just close this, rename the tea topic to general chat and we are good
