Re: A Tea between friends :-) How was Your Day
Okay I did some upgrades, two or three...the automated process via GoDaddy seems to work best. I just have to alter a few CSS files after each upgrade. There's a newer update out but not available via the InstallTron installer yet.
Thanks for the contributions towards the renewal bill!

Re: A Tea between friends :-) How was Your Day
I blame myself for some of that...the anti-spam measures for new users wasn't terribly hard but some managed to flunk.
I've gone ahead and changed it again (the question asked is different) The CAPCTHA stuff always fails as soon as implemented. The default email for forums is pounded in spam daily. I'm sure there's some valid emails in there asking for how to register help...and I try to weed them out when I find them!
Since the Ultimaker site finally updated their web forum software a while back, a lot of that traffic went back there. I haven't seen the regulars that inspired this site's creation in some time. Or maybe they just got busy
Either way...the site is here for those that wish to use it ! I'll see about plugging it on my YouTube videos.

Re: A Tea between friends :-) How was Your Day
This is by far my favorite forum, Have been sending many new 3D Printer owners this way.
I believe every one is just really busy, or have nothing new to share.
Currently there are 48 users online, though see no one posting.
The forum has so much to read it take a while to read and try what we learned.

Re: A Tea between friends :-) How was Your Day
I agree. This has not only become a good forum for general chatting about what we did recently, but also an excellent reference guide for how-to's on almost all subjects 3D printing related. Much better than the vast groups on Facebook (where I see the same questions asked weekly).
Personally, I'm guilty of not sharing anything new because I just haven't had much time to do stuff in this field lately. But I do lurk in the background, reading new posts and replying where I can.

Re: A Tea between friends :-) How was Your Day
That's good to hear....there is a lot of very detailed information from past users that were very active here. Anders, Neato and Gudo...who passed away recently...had some very good posts/comments over the years.

Fellow R2 Builder. Very active on Facebook but seems to have walked away from 3D printing. He’s very knowledgeable and I occasionally remind him we miss him here

Re: A Tea between friends :-) How was Your Day
If I would have never ran across his posts on this forum regarding my new 3D Printer. I might still be trying to figure out Marlin.
Next time you speak, tell him his post have helped many new 3D Printer users. As this was the basis from which I decided to pay it forward.
Without the knowledge I learned from his posts might not have ever had the desire to try an help anyone.

Yes! His posts are the reason I bought my 3DP-17 (my first printer) and was able to successfully upgrade the firmware without any issues.

I let him know how much he helped many of you and asked him to swing over again. No reply. He’s like that. I’ll hear from him out of the blue, chat about a few things then he’s gone again

Too cute. I wonder if it will work with the Echo Dot as well?
