Depends on the alloy and / or finishing methods you can apply. The typical wrought aluminum alloys are really crappy when it comes to strength and durability... But most probably still stronger and more accurate than the printed stuff.
ETH Zurich made a machine that can produce steel parts with 98% the strength of a part made from solid steel. Something similar to laser sintering, but I don't really know the details. However it's only suitable for very small parts because the price will make your eyes pop out and your heart stop :D
