What do you make of these layers?

ColorFabb PLA/PHA 200c 45 mm/sec. 0.30 layers

Underextruded because printed too cold / too fast (0.3mm is pretty thick).

Also, hair touching (bouncing up) to the nozzle. Sorry LePaul but you really need to cover the hotend, even with kapton tape (goes up to 250C and its easy to remove).

I agree with Dim3nsioneer
Check your volume flow test rate.
If your printing with a 0.4mm nozzle that's an area of 0.126mm2
Multiply that by your layer height 0.3mm = 0.377mm3
Multiplied by your rate 45mm/s = 1.696 mm3/s.
You will need to increase your temperature to 210C.
I've run quite a few volume flow rate tests and it can vary between different colours and different nozzles. For example
190. 195. 200. 205. 210. C
ColorFabb std black. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. mm3/s. Standard nozzle
ColorFabb Sky Blue. 5. 6. 6. 6. 7. mm3/s. Standard nozzle
ColorFabb Magenta. 7. 8. 9. 10. mm3/s. Olsson
Faberdashery black. 8. 10. mm3/s. Olsson

It's worth checking by printing a flow rate test cylinder and check the temperature as you build, you can see the start of it failing to adhere between layers and if your quick you can increase the temperature and carry on the test.

The other thing that is unique about this print...and I do not know if Cura is to blame or something else....instead of these pieces being vertical, they wound up sloped a bit. All belts are tight. Never had this happen before. I used Cura to split up the print into pieces...so...could be something weird there.

I wish GR5 was active here. He had a nice scale for how slow or fast and temp posting that I can't find.

I usually print at 40 mm/sec and 200 for 0.2 The consensus seems to be slower and hotter for the thicker, 0.3 , layer?

Not necessary "and", "or" might be good enough ;)

You probably do 0.3 to go faster on big parts, so if you have to print slower you won't win a lot.
Increase temperature and see how it goes.

Yes these are structural parts of BB-8 that just need to be strong (50% infill) and accurate. I was even thinking a larger nozzle might help get these bigger items done in less time

Yes I saw that. Well at least I got some exercise cleaning and polishing the car and will probably find another layer tomorrow
