123D Design Parts Bin

Post by JoAnn »

I"m using 123D Design. The app has a "parts bin" on the right side of the window (sometimes called components). Does anyone know how to add items to the parts bin.

Hi JoAnn

It looks like support and video tutorials for that program have all been retired! There's a few tutorials in YouTube but I couldn't find an answer for you

This is kind of an after the fact response, but...

According to the help file for 123D Design: "The content of the Parts Bin is also loaded from the web, so once you go to offline mode, you will get a reduced version of shapes to work with."

I just tried to login to my account (now that Autodesk has retired 123D Design) and as expected, it sends me to the TinkerCAD site, which is what they want you to use now. So I guess the short answer is that you can no longer add items to the Parts Bin, and in fact you can no longer access the Parts Bin at all. The app itself does seem to still work in offline mode however.
