I wonder if this could be adjusted to use the titan on top of the head rather than bondtech gears

Well, titan isn't that good. But is ok. Also titan is a geared solution, the advantage of this is that since is direct drive with a long thingy, you don't have the weight of the motor on top of the head. Also the curvature compensates the weight, that why ZGE name. Titan is quite big, and I think Gudo already has a version for one side um2 bolt, that could be used to use a cheaper mk7-mk8 bolt. So, it could be possible. Anyhow I think the objective of thi extruder is to be the best possible, so it makes sense that it uses bondtech bolts. Also isn't that expensive, just 40€, and the one I'm using uses the umo nema motor.

Anyhow, I need to do tests. Until tomorrow I won't be able to do much.

Right now i'm playing with preparing some material/quality settings and I was wondering how you guys has tackled this.

I was planning on defining settings for a number of different materials I use with som basic settings, e.g. what is correct for my preferred speed/quality (PLA, XT etc.). And then I have a couple of quality settings, e.g. "Fast", "Normal", "High" that adjusts the settings that needs to be tweaked depending on the material flow that each material needs at a certain speed/layer height.

Do you guys use/recommend one profile per material or to have them all in one big profile?

And if you use one profile, I guess you need to have different quality settings per material also, e.g. "PLA Fast", "XT Fast" etc.? I was thinking that maybe that could be solved wit "relative" temperature adjustments etc. but that does not seem possible, or? Or is there some other trick available for setting up a profile(s) like this?

I used that one to get started with my UMO+ w UM2+ hotend. Neotko gave him a lot of help/tips when he created that one.

With that profile as base I'm at "better than Cura" level...and all I need to tweak are temp/speed

Cura gives me good results. S3D is supposed to be so much better. I'm about at 90% of a Cura result and really want to see S3D shine

S3D is better with that profile for me...Neotko spotted something possibly wrong with my belt/pulleys. That pattern was not showing as good when I sliced it with Cura.

probably one for neotko but has anybody got an idiots guide to programming and saving the micros?
and does anybody know if it is possible to turn off the head cooling fan (on the Wanhao Di3+) its G-code after the print has finished. Cheers, Izzy

I'm not sure what you mean by micro's, but you can use
M106 S0
or
M107
to turn off the fan (depends on the firmware).
