How do you add Helper discs?

Post by LePaul »

I have a large print and it was suggested to add helper discs to the corner

But they didn't state how that is done!

If it's for S3D @neotko has a nice tutorial on Youmagine, and probably here also.

Is that the one we're he puts a thin washer by the corners to increase the brim area?

Yea and Peggyb wrote how to do it on Cura.

All the info here

https://ultimaker.com/en/community/3931 ... it-on-cura

I even included the fff as sample to see it.

Also s3d allows to export the stl so you can save the washer that works for you.

I messed around with this....it appears you can just move a pre-made disc (found several on Thingiverse) and move them onto the edges of the print?

My concern was it would raise the printed object up instead of merging into the print itself

It seems to have done the latter
