Raft is a fixed thing on s3d. It creates a series of layers with very high Z extrusion to create an almost 1mm base to compensate for bed errors. Click on 'disable something first layers' and the speed and settings are more easy to adjust. But the way raft is made doesn't allow toom for much adjustments.

Also, why raft? Raft is only good for um3 nylon+pva

This print is tall

It has sped up considerably now. First time using this!
Funny how the printer even sounds different.

I wasn't expected that warning on the controller about the gcode override

All my BB-8 building friends rave about S3D. Let's see how it does after so much time in Cura

I'm really curious how this print will go. Identical temp/heated bed/retraction speed/retract distance as Cura

In hindsight, maybe a good first print on the Ultimaker 2+ and S3D should have been a small part...not one that takes 17 hours!

Simplify shouldn't be used with Cura's retraction settings.
I had the same issue also using Neotko's settings.
Do the following to check that the retraction settings are correct:
1- Install a filament dust filter before the feeder
2- Set the retraction amount
3- Verify that the printer is retracting the correct amount (you will see the dust filter moving back and forth and the distance between the filter and the feeder = retraction lenght)

With S3d if you enable the nozzle wipe and other stuff it does retract WAY MORE than then retraction lenght you set.

Neotko pointed me to Frederick's S3D profile, which only needed to be altered slightly (since he has an Extended)

That worked very well.

Opening up that feeder though...wow. Watch out for an explosion of small parts :)

Yea, 3dverks.. has a guide to open it. If you follow it the parts don't go kbom. Specially is important yo loose the spring tension

I opened it slowly and heard things about to pop out...I knew the spring would leap out at me. The round white filament guide at the bottom took me a few moment to figure out how to put back in place
