What's out there that isn't a nightmare to work with?

I only used ColorFabb and it was fairly straightforward. No issues I can think of.

Agree with you guys, ColorFabb WoodFill, for some reason they have stopped BambooFill.

but use a bigger nozzle then 0.4...

Really? I was going to print Baby Groot in wood...so many fine details

I used only .4 nozzle. Up the temperature and enjoy the smell of burnt wood. Other than that, no issues.

There are 3 woods that print ok

Polymax wood/nowood. It looks like cardboard when printed, it allows more retractions than normal pla+wood.

Italianmade Plawood filament. This one I'm not sure yet but I think is the one that eumakers sell. I have a sample and is on my todobedobedo list for this week to test. If is the one from them I know from Valcrow that it actually allows a lot of fine detail than other woodfilaments don't.

And the third probably 0.6 nozzle and colorfabb.

Ofc to print wood filaments I would never use um2 knurled bolt since is way too destructive, or I would try to avoid any retractions (with the problem of gabs, stringing and lots of manuycleaning unless the object doesn't need that at all).

I'm still intrigued with the italian filament. I seen it on the Amsterdam show and their orints where way too good, so muchthat I thought they where way too fake. But Valcrow print test was really impressive, so I will give it a good round of tests to this 10metters sample.

I must admit, when printing with ColorFabb woodfill I had replaced my knurled feeder with a hobbled feeder and I was using Roberts feeder mod.
I have tried Kai-Pathy's lay wood which was nice but the LayWood Flex had problems with the Roberts set up and they recommend a 0.5mm Nozzle, but with the bondtech feeder was fine on a 0.4 nozzle.

I only use Colorfabb and that clogs with a 0.4 nozzle. Bigger nozzles print just as nice (and faster) because the fibers hide the layers.

I never had a clog with it and I only have 0,4mm nozzles in use (too lazy to switch at my UMO). I recently tried the woodgrain postprocessor but decided to not use is as the effect is not so "realistic"...

I prefer using 0.6mm nozzles with all wood-filled filaments, no clogs as long as you dont leave the filament hot for longer times without extrusion.

The Corkfill is a really nice finish, but it has a very light texture, so it is more of a dark brown with a nice luster. The Woodfill has a bit heavier texture which hides layer lines really well.

Colorfabb has indeed discontinued the bamboofill, i believe it was because of a raw material supply problem.

I printed a headphone stand and Baby Groot this weekend using Hatchbox Wood filament. Looks great. I didn't even run a test print after loading the filament.
