Sounds like a rough spot in the z rods? Or really bad bearings?

Since it happens in any location on the rods if you repeat the procedure manually...the bearings are more than likely to be the problem. New ones arrived in the office today so I will pick them up tomorrow...lets just hope that they are better...even though they still are from Ultimaker :P

Oh ok,
Are you able to disconnect the bed from the bearing and manually move each bearing in turn up the shaft ? I'm wondering if you have a slight deformation on 1 shaft causes the stiction, there may be a small area that appears slight more polished due to the rubbing.

I will when I replace the bearings ;)

But I don't think any things wrong with the rods since I can reproduce the issue at any height by manually moving the plate.

How difficult is it to replace these bearings? I wonder if I should replace mine but I am afraid that I might end up with a worse printer than before because I have to take it fully apart and can't get it together properly anymore... :-(
