Re: Dymco Printer (Anet A8 Clone)

No, glass works great. It will transfer the heat just fine.

3DP-17 mod time

Now that I have my CR-10S dialed in and getting ~90% excellent prints, time to build up my old (bought it last winter) 3DP-17. I have replaced the heated bed (same bed, just no gouges from embedding the print head) and the bed mounting plate with this one. Then I will (finally) install my anti-backl...

Re: Dymco Printer (Anet A8 Clone)

Not really sure exactly what your printer has, so it is going to be difficult to give you a lot of tips. But here is a shot. For bed leveling, the easiest way that most people have found is to first do Auto Home. This will put the print head at the default X/Y/Z coordinates. For some (CR-10S for exa...

Well, you know the other saying, 'the difference between men and boys is the price of their toys.'

Re: Stats...I haven't done this in a while

Simple answer to the lower usage. Remember as a kid, your mom always yelling at you to go outside and play on nice days, or stay in on wet nasty days? Well, nice days are coming to an end, so we are starting to stay in and play.

Re: New Release!

Also, why does it print so slow? Need to look into that. May be worth the time to have Octopi download to SD and then print.

This is by far the coolest print I have seen/made to date. From https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2569573

On it. Will deep dive this weekend to see what issues I can find (unless I am drug away from my 3D printer, kicking and screaming).

Re: Best wood-fill filament?

I printed a headphone stand and Baby Groot this weekend using Hatchbox Wood filament. Looks great. I didn't even run a test print after loading the filament.

Re: New Release!

I finally got my pi's setup (what is the plural for Octopi - so confused). Little-hicci for the 3DP-17, big-hicci for the CR-10S. Now I am having 90's flashbacks. What's with the 8.3 file names only? I'm looking at both Marlin and Octoprint for solutions here. I find it odd that I get at least 40 ch...

Just an update on the Ono. Looks like it has crossed some major hurdles and is getting closer to launch.

Meh. My printer is so good, it knocks prints off the bed half way in.

Re: BCN3D Stringing

Based on the printer's design, I would guess what you are seeing is one head still extruding when it is moving out of the way for the other head. Not sure what slicer you are using, but I would recommend setting retraction speed and distance. You should be able to set that in the advanced tab (if yo...
